What a Sunday!

Duke of Marmalade doesn’t run and King of Rome doesn’t show. Nadobayo finishes third and Horatio Carter finishes eventually. There was comfort in the lay bet, Glan Lady coming third.

Some day soon I will pick a winner and some day soon Syvilla will win a race. She is a three year old and is still a maiden but she has been second in each of her last three races. Surely Monday at Bath (4:10) will see her in the winner’s enclosure.

There are two lay bets to consider at this meeting. Bright Enough in the 2:40 is carrying a 6lb penalty for her win last week on the all weather surface at Kempton. You should also consider Chelsea Girl, who is a smart filly but has not raced for three months. I question her fitness and think she is a Bismarck.

If you must have a bet at Folkestone, where the going is likely to be heavy, Equulus Pictor should get the better of Woodcote and The Jobber in the 4:20 while Mr Hichens should also complete a hat trick of wins in the last race at 5:20.

That’s it for now. Best of luck.
